I started to look at sculptures when i looked back at the theme which i started with BRAILLE and how this is connected to blindness. Sculptures can be touch and felt to recognise something. The work that i have looked at is more shapes than an actual object. i have done this because a blind person would be able to feel and get the full sense of these sculptures as i feel they don't have to have an actual name and meaning, they are shapes which can be interpreted how someone would like.
Nancy Cervenka BIG BLUE
John Searles MELODYI feel that sculptures could add to my design process. The shape and structure in some of the sculptures that i have looked at could inspire the shape of my designs. Some sculptures could inspire designs in small and literal ways....
or the garment could take on the shape of a sculpture in a overall way....
SCULPTURES WITH LAYERS
JEN STARK
Through her work layers are able to be expressed clearly with the use of different colours. i like her work as it is able to draw you in, with not only the colours but also the shapes of the paper.
Through my work skin and the layers are going to developed further and i feel that by looking at the layers created in these images i will be able to develop my own ideas, and later on trying to experiment with these ideas either with fabric or paper.
