By looking at the work of the designers who had a huge impact on fashion scene in the late 20th century, i am able to see a different way of designing as they have used many different techniques to create the unusual shapes and structures.
The designs which are on show are able to show both the traditional and the innovation. The cutting edge work is able to inspire me as it is has create shapes to the garments making them more interesting and fluid.
The first two images above were really able to inspire me and i decided to use parts of that garment to create new elements in my design.
By looking at the results of this method i would like to try it out at a later date!!!

To gain these effects in these garments I would use wire to create the 3D appearance on the garment
CONTINUOUS PATTERN CUTTING
A method which is used often in these garments is continuous pattern cutting. Whilst in class some groups where given this method as a task, and i thought that their outcome was very interesting, as only one piece of fabric is used is used to create he garments.

SUSANNAH FRANKEL
This garment is made by continuous pattern cutting out of one piece of material. i find this garment amazing as the shape that i created is able to encase the top half of the body with the sleeve pocking out at the side.
